"Time" Has Become a 4-Letter Word
Feb 19, 2026
Time.
We are always running out of it, racing against it, trying to beat it, and managing to stay within the limits of it. It’s exhausting. And the amount of stress we carry around all day long is monumental and most of it revolves around time.
When we were kids, we didn’t care what time it was, if we were late for lunch or if we had to be somewhere at a certain time, we just lived. We lived in our “present” state of mind and heart. We lived in the moments without ever looking ahead and stressing about the damn time!
Thankfully we had our parents to keep us on track with getting us from place to place on time, but we didn’t care. Our days revolved around the sun. When the sun came up we started our day and let it organically take shape, for the most part. And when the sun started going down we knew it was about time to get home for dinner.
If you were born in the 70s or earlier, you would probably agree that most of us didn’t wear watches, we didn’t have phones, or know what time it was until probably our mid teens. Even when I was in elementary school, I didn’t care to look at the clock. We listened for the bells to know when it was time for recess, lunch or to go home for the day.
We were PRESENT.
Today, in my almost 54th year of life, I have noticed that time gives me a lot of stress!
As a sole business owner as a psychic reader, I am constantly feeling the “rush” to get things done because it’s just me doing the work. I’m not rushing my work, I just feel the pressure to “hurry up” all the time, and that’s my own internal struggle because I feel like I’m failing if I’m not busting my ass every single day, which is not true, but I feel that way inside.
I’m always looking at the time to see how much I can still get accomplished before my husband gets off work (because I love hanging out with him), looking at the dates, thinking and planning ahead, living in my head everywhere except right here! I am always feeling rushed and like “time ran out.” Even when I’m getting ready for the day and we have to leave at a certain time I am pre-stressed because I already don’t want to be late.
I am a very present person, but this time thing has really got me in a tizzy today.
Now, saying all of this, I AM very PRESENT in everything that I do. I am never not present, but I have had this overwhelming feeling that time is running out and I don’t like that pressure.
This is a gentle reminder that we can take breaks, we don’t have to be everything to everyone all of the time, we can lay low if we need to, we can be whatever we want to be and everything will still be there waiting for us. Taking breaks are good because they recharge you and rebalance your energy. You will come back stronger than before and you will see things in a whole new light, which gives you so much to work with moving forward.
As an artist/creative person I always feel like I need to be creating something. It’s not a have to feeling it’s an internal wiring for me. So I am always wanting to work with my paints and my pencils and create something magical for someone to cherish forever. And as a psychic I crave to have that energetic connection with my clients and lend the healing and bring that joy back into their spirit again. I love making my clients feel. As they open their painted readings and see their Chakra Blueprint or Mirrored Energy Portrait painting and read all of the pages of their psychic reading, they feel a warm hug wash over them, they feel seen, they have clarity and validation, they have found their home base within themselves…and THAT is why I do what I do! And time is what makes it all possible.
So, in the long run, time is teaching us that it is a balance.
How we want to spend our days? Do we want to spend them stressed out to meet a deadline? Or do we want to live in the moment and go with our natural flow of just being human?
I know people have to be at work at certain times, and have to pick up their kids at certain times, and we have schedules to follow, I get it. But all I am saying is, while you’re in the moments of time crunches and rushes, remember to be present in those moments. As you’re rushing around to get out of the house, take 10 seconds to breathe, pet the dog, talk to the cat, look out the window and notice how the sky looks, eat your quick snack gently as you are in the carpool line, notice the birds and breathe again.
If at all possible, try to not let time get the best of you.
There’s no rush, everything happens the way it’s supposed to and it will all get done, I promise.
Being a kid and living by the sun was so wonderful, I think I’ll try to work that back into my days starting right now.
Life is short. It’s time to be present, even when you’re in a rush. Just imagine what you will experience, and what you will see that you maybe would have missed out on. I want to drink it all in during this lifetime, and I invite you to do the same, live in the moments.
I know there people who are limited on time, and are grasping at trying to steal more time, you are not alone. I know you are doing your very best to make the most of the time you have left here on earth, and you are making it count, I know you are. We should all live in this state of living. Thank you, you are teaching others more than you know as you are experiencing your life as it is right now. I lend comfort as you navigate through these days, weeks, months and years ahead with grace, peace and love in your heart. You are brave and you are such an important part of the world, thank you for being Y♥U.
I see you and I appreciate you. Thank you for taking time to read this ♥.
